Helping Catch the Bad Guys
June 6, 2009 - Heather Ziegler
For several weeks now we have heard reports of people having their vehicles broken into. Some of these bold thieves are even striking in the daytime. We've seen evidence of that in parking lots around the newspaper. Today (Saturday) we heard a report that some neighbors in Woodsdale had caught some juveniles breaking into cars. They caught them red-handed with the goods. They held them until police got there. Good for them! Someone has to stop these punks from doing this stuff and the police can't be everywhere all the time. No one is immune as it seems they will break into your car for loose change or stereo of anything they can get. If you go to the mall, The Highlands or the city parks, be especially aware of what you leave in plain sight in you car or truck. Also, never leave your purse or wallet in your car if you are going on the jogging paths. Take it from me, you might come back to a bashed in window and your purse or wallet gone. I had that happen to me and I will never go through that again. It's also wise to make a copy of all your credit cards and other things in your wallet just in case it is stolen.
