It's not often that I ask readers for their help, but today I have a special request. If you have 15 seconds or a minute or even longer, could you say a prayer for Fr. Chris Turner? He is the pastor at Our Lady of Peace Church in Mt. Olivet. Over the weekend, Fr. Chris suffered a brain aneurysm that has left him in critical condition in a Pittsburgh hospital. In fact the next two weeks are critical to his recovery if that is God's plan. If you don't know Fr. Chris, please take my word that he is a wonderful young man whose sermons are so down-to-earth and meaningful. He knows how to reach young people and senior citizens. He has not been a priest for a long time but he has made his mark on the Catholic community and anyone who has met him. He's a big kid at heart but filling the shoes of a much greater responsibility as a grown man. Perhaps you have read his columns in the Faith section of The Intelligencer on a Saturday in the past. The past few weeks have been trying for the Our Lady of Peace Parish as they had to close their church building because of some roof or structural problems. They have been holding services in their gym. Now with this news about Fr. Chris, there are many people suffering along with him. Thanks for anything you can do.
