| | Why so mean?January 27, 2009 - Heather Ziegler When I put words on this blog or on the editorial page in the form of a weekly column, I put my name on what I write. The fact that people can comment on either is a wonderful thing but why are people so mean-spirited these days? One person who commented on last Saturday's column asked why I believe in God. I feel sorry for that person. There is a difference between wearing your faith on your sleeve and being a person of faith. At least I know what I believe in and do not apologize for it. I don't expect everyone to agree with what I write nor do I ask them to do so. Opinions are great so why don't you put your name on what you write or say? I guess it's easier to hide behind some clever fake ID. I will continue to do my job here but I will always put my name on what I write and I will not apologize for having an opinion. Those people who comment negatively on our appearance or faith or stance on abortion will continue to do so I am sure. But what are you willing to say publicly?
