Steubenville woes

January 15, 2009 - Heather Ziegler
It was less than 10 days into 2009 and a man was shot to death on a Steubenville street. I feel sick for that city, its good people and the police and sheriff's departments who have to deal with this. There are decent people who live and work in Steubenville. It has its good qualities but there is such an element of evil, most notably associated with drugs and violence, that has permeated its foundation. The only way to combat these evils is for everyone to keep their eyes and ears open and help the police in any way they can to nip this stuff in the bud. It has helped in Wheeling. Police receive tips and I'm sure they have stopped some crimes before they have happened because the community has gotten involved in crimes watches and things like that. I wish the best for Steubenville but my heart goes out to those who have been victimized already. There is enough to worry about in 2009 without being concerned about bullets flying in Steubenville or any other city for that matter.
