Smokin' In the ... White House

President-elect Barack Obama admitted in a recent interview that he did sneak a few drags during the recent campaign -- but promises he won't do so in the White House.

That's good. Especially if he refrains from getting cigar smoke in the Oval Office drapes.

It takes taxpayer money to get those cleaned you know. It's not like the curtains are a dress you can easily take to the cleaners.

Seriously, good luck to the future president in giving up cigarettes. He needs to keep healthy in the coming months.

At least alcohol presumably isn't the issue with Obama.

In Austrailia, drinking has become such a problem with elected officials that there is a push to make them take breath tests before voting.

Reportedly, some inebriated officials even danced in their underwear recently to celebrate the passage of budget legislation.

Now that's a custom that gives new meaning to the term "Down Under." Lets hope that tradition stays down there.
