Just curious

Have you ever wondered why the people who need the most help are the ones who have no clue they need helping?

Or how about this one: Why is it that some people are so self-centered that even if you bend over backwards to help them, they think you should do back handsprings?

And I've also been curious, how does one continue to do, do, do for others without becoming the one who needs assistance?

One more: How does one have unconditional love for a person but also practice "tough love"?

Sorry for the vague post. I appreciate your thoughts. I think I'll need more than a layman's opinion, however!
