| | A Bit of a ShaveMay 25, 2008 - Phyllis SigalIt's Sunday morning, and I can walk and move and not wince in pain! Saturday's 5K was a success. I shaved about a minute and a half off last year's time ... of course, I would've been happier with more, but nonetheless, I was glad for that. Last year, my husband, Bruce, was ahead of me urging me to go faster the whole time. But this year? I was ahead of him, setting the pace. He said that either I was in better shape or he was in worse shape — maybe it was a little bit of both. But I felt great at the end; the bit of "training," the yoga, the stretching all definitely helped me feel better this year, I'm sure. And, although I was ahead of Bruce the WHOLE time, he did cross the finish line 100th of second before me. I don't know how that happened! AND he came in second in his age category! Yes, he gloated all the rest of the day! Being involved in the Ogden race is such a fun thing. It's great to be out walking and to see familiar faces in the crowd, cheering you on. It's nice to be part of such a wonderful event in town. So, next year ... do I continue to try to walk faster? Do I try to run the 5K? Or, do I try to walk the 20K? Any suggestions from you seasoned runners and walkers? Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article. Post a Comment | EZToUse.comBlog Links |
