Reality According to Rine
POSTED:Wed, March 19, 2008 @ 10:26PM
What's with Arizona Anyway? So West Virginia is set to take on proven NCAA commodity Arizona on Thursday night in Washington, D.C. Most seasons that would be cause for concern. This time? Not so much. On paper, and I know the games aren't played on paper, the Mountaineers should have no trouble. In fact, I argue WVU shouldn't be playing Zona at all. The Wildcats lost 14 games this season, yet still gained a No. 10 seed? I don't know about you, but I smell something fishy here. There's no way you can tell me a 14-loss team belongs in the tournament, let alone as a No. 10 seed. This is particularly puzzling when you consider the Wildcats' rival, Arizona State, owns a pair of victories against Lute Olsen-less Arizona, yet received a No. 1 seed - in the NIT. I really don't care who makes it or doesn't to be honest, as long as one of my teams aren't the one getting screwed. But if WVU gets beat, fans have a reason to be upset.
