Green Before St. Paddy's Day

March 12, 2008 - Heather Ziegler
It was an amazing discovery I made this morning as the newspaper office went green. Green as in a major commitment to recycling and other green initiatives. Everything from reading the morning paper to opening the mail became food for thought. There are separate bins for newspaper, white paper and plastic in the office now and filling them will not be a problem. It just requires some extra thought and effort. Think about it at home. When you open all that junk mail and toss it in the garbage can. It's so nice to be able to corral all that excess paper in one place and know it will go on to the recycling effort. I still get angry when I receive three, four even more copies of the same press release over the fax or through the mail. Why can't companies fix their mailing lists so they aren't wasting so much paper? Try this green thing. It's really quite simply when you get the hang of it.
