February 24, 2008 - Phyllis Sigal
Service at many places we shop these days is less than desirable, with so much self-serve, big-box stores.
But, I believe that when you get good service, it should not go unnoticed.
So, thanks to Amy at Macy's at the Ohio Valley Mall for really, really helping me out yesterday. (Saturday.)
I had found a purse on Macys.com but really wanted to see what it looked like in person, and would rather buy locally (and not have to pay shipping!) So, I called our Macy's to find out if they carried the item. I felt bad calling, as I know it's difficult to wait on customers and go searching about the store for something ... especially on a big sale day.
But, even though Amy was backed up with customers, she put me on hold and several times came back to the phone, apologizing for the wait. I offered to call back to give her a chance to search for the purse and to take care of her customers.
I called back awhile later and she had pulled every purse similar to the one I had described.
She was so gracious and so patient, and well, just deserving of a big thank you!
THANK YOU, Amy. I'm glad I chose our Macy's rather than macys.com.
