| | TragedyDecember 17, 2007 - Heather Ziegler Last week was a great vacation week for me. Stayed home and got a lot done. But the news of each day kept pulling me back into the job. And on Sunday to learn about WVU losing its football coach to Michigan was just the start of a downward spin. That was bad. But worse and more heart-wrenching was to learn Sunday of the tragic death of Opal Thomas, wife of Harold Thomas of Wheeling. It tempered my whole approach to my first day back at work. It also put things of importance into perspective. Football coaches job jumping just doesn't seem so important today. Harold Thomas is a warm and kind human being who has lost his best friend - his wife - in a fire that swept through their Wheeling home late Saturday night. Harold is a community leader in business, in his church and just an all-around good guy. Our prayers are with him today.
