Finally, the story came out about Dr. Murphy and the feds investigating him for involvement with kiddie porn. When I wrote the blog earlier this week, we already knew his name and the circumstances surrounding his death, but we could not get it verified by officials. That's the difference between these newspapers and other media that speculate without any verification of facts. We simply do not assume something. I appreciate all the readers who offered their opinions on this topic. It's never easy to report about a possible suicide and/or links to child pornography. We've seen enough of these cases, however, to have no sympathy for people who do this sort of thing. I'm sorry that a family lost a loved one. But what those children victimized by child pornographers have lost is without excuse. Period
