| | WVU Night in WheelingOctober 17, 2007 - Heather Ziegler There was little doubt Tuesday night in Wheeling that WVU has a huge presence in the Northern Panhandle. More than 150 people turned out to meet and greet WVU's newest president Mike Garrison and his wife Heather at a WVU-Wheeling alumni reception held at Oglebay Park. The park did a nice job including the fabulous ice sculpture of the flying WV college logo. As for the crowd, I didn't know there were so many different men's ties with blue and gold patterns! It was a nice event and the Garrisons were well received by the crowd. While academics and financial matters were included in Garrison's short speech, it wasn't long before football took the lead of the conversations in the room. I wish the Garrisons well in their new endeavors at WVU. And let's Go Mountaineers!
