I've been busy as of late but have been collecting some random thoughts as I drive around the valley on various errands. Some of these things are just observations, some are questions I will share with you and others are just things that, well, tick me off. Is it just me or has anyone else noticed the sinking holes developing along National Road near Hardee's in Wheeling? Didn't we the taxpayers just spend a couple million bucks having that entire road rehabbed? Have you noticed that even after the work, during a heavy rain, the water pools in front of CVS? Not just a little bit, either. OK, while on my rant, I have to say that either I am shrinking fast in height or someone needs to trim the shrubs in the triangle near Perkins. Coming off the interstate and driving east on National Road, I cannot see over the bushes and have to come to a complete stop to see if anything is heading toward me from the west. I predict a rear-end collision in my future because people in this country do not like to yield properly. A yield sign is red because you must stop if you don't have the right of way. Few drivers seem to realize that. That triangle is always beautifully plant, but short people like me would like to see just flowers there and not bushes. I was out in Elm Terrace the other evening. Good thing I put on the bright lights or I would not have seen the seven deer in the street until too late. Wow, they own the neighborhood. You gotta love Elm Terrace and the shopping center. Two dollar stores in one plaza is just incredible plus Ben Franklin. I could spend a lot time in Ben Franklin's. It's nice you can still buy fabric and ribbon by the yard in Wheeling. Elm Grove is an increasingly busy place these days. Over at the Elm Grove Crossing Mall, I've seen a lot of out-of-state license plates, obviously gas rig workers. They are spending a lot of money in our towns so be kind even if they are wearing muddy boots into your businesses! What's on your minds these days. Tell me what you have noticed on your driving trips around your town...
