Trumped Up Distractions

Now that the world has seen President Barack Obama's birth certificate . . .it seems everybody's taking credit for forcing him to show it.

Big deal. If a presidential wannabe really wants to impress American voters, maybe he or she should make Obama instead provide paper evidence that global warming really is spoiling the globe -- and that coal is the reason.

Maybe they should cry out for better papertrails to document government spending. And what about all that paper that' s being used to print more money?

Couldn't the future candidate press the issue that more of our citizens need paper -- a college diploma, a sheep skin -- hanging on their wall? And that the cost of that paper needs to be more affordable?

Maybe we are living in a paperless society. Does that mean one without accountability?

Who is man enough? -- or woman enough -- to demand accountability?

Aren't the voters ready to start handing out walking papers?
