Super Dallas

February 2, 2011 - Heather Ziegler
Having visited my sister Gretchen in Dallas, Texas, a few times, I know for a fact nothing in that Texas town is done in a small way. The first visit was actually on Halloween and the decorations on some of the lawns looked like they were straight out of a Disney story or haunted house. Big, big and everywhere. Now that the Super Bowl is about to happen there this weekend, Dallas has been inundated by all those fans lucky enought to get through the ice storm. Today (Wednesday) my sister reports that school is canceled again, ice is so thick there are rolling black-outs, traffic is stalled and it is dangerous just to walk outside. The wind is ferocious (coming our way today, thanks) and the airport is at a standstill. So much for a wonderful time in Dallas. I don't believe even the bad weather will stop diehard football fans from their pricey destination to Cowboys Stadium. My brother Greg visited Gretchen this past week and they toured the stadium. They got to see where Jerry Jones watches the game from his luxury suite-box. I think my whole house would fit inside his "box" by their description. They saw the locker rooms, luxury suites, the field and its amentities, and of course, Greg's favorite, the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders' locker rooms where lifesize photos of the girls line the locker room wall. Gretchen was a cheerleader at Central Catholic here in Wheeling but they didn't wear those kinds of outfits in high school! See photos
