Maybe it was the weather, rain and fog, but there was absolutely no traffic headed to Oglebay's Winter Festival of Lights on Thanksgiving Day. That usually is one of the biggest days for traffic, however, maybe this weekend will be busier. Whatever the case, the lights are beautiful in the LED displays. If traffic does develop on that road, people who live along the route implore drivers to be courteous and not block business entrances and allow people in and out of driveways. Remember DO NOT turn off your lights when going through the park. There are no street lights and it is easy to run off the road if you are not familiar with the roads. For people familiar with Oglebay, you might want to try one of three or four ways to get into the park. I don't know why no one wants to go the back way up Waddles Run Road to the park. It's easy then to jump in line once you get in the park. Or there are other ways in there as well, Peters Run, GC&P Road, W.Va. 88 from the North, etc. Good luck to anyone headed that way this weekend.
