| | Friday Night LightsNovember 15, 2010 - Heather ZieglerThis coming Friday will be all about the lights -- at the Wheeling Christmas Parade and at stadiums across the valley. Unfortunately, the parade and several very important football games will be going on at the same time. The parade will be hitting the downtown streets at 6:30 p.m. while Bishop Donahue and Wheeling Central will meet up at 7:30 p.m. Friday at John Marshall Stadium in Glen Dale. And Magnolia will host Chapmanville with kickoff at 7:30 Friday. Chapmanville is where our new interim Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin is from. Then on the other side of the river, Bridgeport and Shadyside will go head to head in St. Clairsville. Does that mean there will be four or five fewer high school bands in the parade? Many people will watch the parade and then head to Oglebay for the Winter Festival of Lights. Also. WesBanco Arena will host the holiday craft fair. All in all, Friday night will be extremely busy in the Ohio Valley. Please be aware of this as traffic will be crazy I'm sure. Did you notice the crowd in town Saturday night for the Broadway show at the Capitol Theatre? The streets and parking lots were full. Looked like they could have used some help at the 10th Street Garage. The lines were backed up for quite awhile there. Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article.
