Many thanks to the folks responsible for cleaning the sidewalk of cinders on Chicken Neck Hill and other spots regularly traveled by walkers, runners, bicycles and strollers. For months there has been a heavy layer of cinders on some of the city's sidewalks and streets. I just wish they were recycled. Certainly could save some money...
Kudos, too, to the decorators along National Road. The flowers in the triangle near Perkins, along National Road and Wheeling Hill and on the Market Plaza are beautiful. The flowers do a lot for that plaza that otherwise appears abandoned. And if we don't want traffic on the plaza then why is that alleyway open at 11th Street next to the Hornes Building? I see cars zipping through there all the time. Not much fun when you are walking in that area to have a car come up behind you and honk the horn. It's enough to make you drop your Subway sandwich. Any improvements in the upper part of the downtown area would be welcomed.
