Watch the game, fellas!
September 14, 2007 - Heather Ziegler
It was almost an enjoyable experience to watch WVU stomp Maryland 31-14 last night. I say almost because even though my favorite team won, those goofballs at ESPN nearly drove me and my husband crazy. Throughout the game, the three former ball players who attempted to commentate the game were more interested in the fact that Ray Lewis was on the sidelines. Also, the network kept going to a split screen with the game at hand the size of a postage stamp even during plays. On the larger screen were NFL highlights or previews, which I could care less about when I'm trying to watch the college game. Their behavior was middle school boys locker room at best. There were no interesting sidelights on the college teams or schools. Every time the camera panned the sidelines it was to watch Ray Lewis. If I want to watch Ray Lewis, I will turn on the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. The whole game show was a slap in the face to BOTH universities. Shame on ESPN. It should have stood for Extra Stupid Performance Night. Put that in your helmet and smoke it, guys.
